Yasmine is a clinically and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) trained therapist. She is licensed in California as an associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT) and as an associate professional clinical counselor (APCC). She is also working on becoming a certified Gottman Couples Therapist and Paul Ekman certified. Yasmine earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in California. Yasmine has worked with individuals as young as 4 years old with all diagnoses including but not limited to trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and addiction.
Additionally, Yasmine has worked with adults through relationship and family issues. Yasmine uses psychodynamic, solution focused and dialectical behavioral therapy approaches in her practice. Her areas of interest include adults aged 18+ struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, personality disorders, as well as, couples. Her areas of expertise include trauma, severe mental health diagnoses, relationships, children, adolescents, and adults. She is working towards completing her hours in order to become licensed with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in marriage and family therapy, and as a professional clinical counselor.
Yasmine has successfully coauthored The Handbook of Wellness Medicine (2020), and publications in the topics of The Assessment and Measurement of Wellness in the Clinical Medical Setting: A Systematic Review (2018), Pain and Depression: A Systematic Review (2018), and The Efficacy of Mindfulness-Based Interventions on Depressive Symptoms and Quality of Life: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials (2018).
