Clinical Psychologist
Salima Barakat is a Clinical Psychologist, Hypnotherapist, and Kripalu Yoga Instructor based in Cairo, Egypt. She has been conducting individual and group therapy sessions with clients suffering from stress, anxiety, and mental health disorders for over 16 years. Salima is also a Psychometrician; she was certified to conduct psychological assessments such as WAIS-R (IQ test), MMPI-2 (Personality test), and TAT (Projective test).
Her sessions are a blend of Clinical Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, and Yoga philosophy and practice.
Salima holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the American University in Cairo. She acquired her clinical therapy training at The Behman Hospital and her Clinical Hypnotherapy Certification from the Illuminations Well-being Center in Dubai. She obtained her Yoga Teacher Training accreditation from The Kripalu Center for Yoga and Ayurvedic health in USA, which was a 300 hours yoga teacher certification program. She also studied Mindfulness Meditation at the Mind Space Studio in Montreal.
In addition to her practice, Salima has substantial experience in managing & facilitating well-being & health retreats for groups who wish to become more self-reliant & less drug-dependent in managing mild anxiety & high-functioning depression. Her unique exposure both into Psychology as well as alternative therapy addressed to mental health issues allows her to offer unique solutions which prove to yield sustainable results.
