Senior Clinical Psychologist
Dr Kate Ellis is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, registered and licensed by the Health and Care Professionals Council in the UK. Dr Kate completed her first PhD at the University of Ulster in Northern Ireland, researching the impact of trauma on young people. She completed a second Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christchurch University in England. Dr Kate is also an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the American University in Cairo and provides training and consultation to many NGO’s in Egypt in the area of trauma.
Dr Kate has been seeing clients in Egypt for over 8 years and offers individual, couples and family therapy to both adults and children (over the age of 10 years old) for a range of problems including anxiety, stress, depression, relationship and family problems, trauma, eating disorders, bi-polar disorder and personality disorders. Dr Kate specializes in the treatment of trauma amongst adults and children. She also specializes in working with young people experiencing psychological distress, adjustment problems and behavioural or school related issues and works with families to resolve these situations.
Dr Kate offers an integrated approach to therapy and practices cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy, she is also a certified dialectical behaviour therapist. Dr Kate conducts therapy in English only at MPC clinic New Maadi as well as offering sessions online.
